GET CRUNK!!!
Umm for having like the most stressful and longest week last week this weekend made up for it times 10. This is gona be long...
Friday...Didn't get much sleep b\c I was actully nervous about the conference and I stayed up late packing. I got up at 5 to get ready and go in to work morning treatment at 6. I left when the bell rang for school just b\c it was stupid for me to sit in History for like 10 min, then check out. I went home, finished packing and my dad and I hit the road. Ofcourse there were two breakfast stops and quite the amazing conversations...I dn what I would do with out my dad. He rocks...no joke. We got to College Station around like 1130. I checked in and dropped my luggage with the boys. I tried to look really cute and I think I did...lol. I met some of the guys and girls leaders then pilled in a car with 3 other kids. I introduced myself and they were like super cool. Phil Taylor and I like stuck together and hung out most of the afternoon on the tours and crap. After lunch and games and meeting alot of cool people we went to get our bags and meet the students we were gona be staying with. I was with Laura...she was def. super cool. She reminded myself of me sorta. There were two other girls my age in the same room plus Laura's roomate Leah. We went and put the luggage in the dorm. Laura lives in Underwood which is southside close to commons, but it is modular dorm so it was pretty big. They had it all decorated, it was cute. Then we went and had a bunch of meetings and met with our roundtables, like lil disscussion groups...(George Washington roundtable rocks.) Ben and Nena were my leaders for our roundtable group. They were really open and alot of fun to hang out with. I hung with this guy named Ethan, who was prety cool. However he ended up ditching after saturday morning...We went to the Calloway House for dinner whish is like this really nice apartment/dorm building (looked like a 5 star hotel to me) barily off campus...supposely all the athelets and rich kids live there. It seriously looked like a freaking hotel...we saw the model room and I was pretty much speechless...it was like really expensive and really out of the way of the thick of things. College to me is supposed to be like surviving with your friends in crappy but livable dorms with like no food or money but hella parties and fun study spots...
After dinner we went back for more meetings and whatnot. I met Eric (Woodlands), Andrew (New Caney), Kelsey (dont remember), and some other girls. I kinda hung with them and Ethan friday night. We had a variety show thingy where these like a&m western/swing dancers came, then there was the procushion band with the trash bags that kept the beat alive, and then a hott emo band...good times. One the way back to the dorms, Brook, one of the girls that was staying in Laura's dorm too, found me and we talked about the parties and whatnot that we could go to. Tech we are supposed to go back and like sleep b\c the variety show wasn't over till after midnight but some kids were getting alochol supposly...lol and there were like alot of ppl going to hang out. We hadn't talked to Laura yet so we didn't know if she was gona be anal like some of the leaders where that already said no to their kids. When we finally got back to the room Laura said we had to options, go to sleep, or go hang out...ya, that was a easy ?. We went and met Kyle, Laura's friend and his kids who I actully knew. Eric was in his dorm and so was this guy who was friends with Phil (from friday afternoon). We waited for some more kids and were going to go to Rumors, but it was closed. It was like 1 so we went into the guys dorm across from ours and chilled with Anthony, who lived there while Laura and Kyle went on a food run. We watched Van Wilder till the RA's came by and kick Laura Me and Brook out. We said our goodbyes and got to sleep after 3. (Hanging out in a guys dorm @ A&M with cool college guys and some kids my age on a random friday night my junior year in highschool never crossed my mind...how much fun!?)
Saturday we had to be at the student center at 730 for a group picture. That ment getting up like at 630, which ment like a lil over 3 hours sleep. I was like a zombie but somehow we all got there. We took a big group pic, there was like 300 kids all together there, but it didn't seem like that many. We had to wear like business clothes...but I was comfertable...then we walked all the way to northside for breakfast and had meetings and roundtables and guest speakers...long day. I almost fell asleep many times. At a roundtable group in the late after noon we played this really fun ballon game where you like chase it around and hit it, I dn guess had to be there...but it was funny. Then we had a break and Nena took us down to Ruder tower to lay on couches in this one cold hallway that everyone sleeps in. I got like a 30 min. power nap, but anything helped. Then we had a fancy dinner at the student center. Yummy. Ben was being a desert hog, and Shana and I played with the ribbons on the table...ADD oh ya...lol. Then our guest speaker after dinner was intense...like prob. one of the best speeches I have ever heard. Everyone was like amazed after...good stuff. Then we went back to the dorms to get ready for the dance. On the invite they said to bring clothes/outfit from your fav. time period. I did 80's and I think it has imporved alot from the 80's dance here and then spirit week...I'll have pics up soon. Brook and I walked to the dance, she went as western...it was cute. At first it was a lil dull, but then everyone got into it and it was freaking so much fun! I founf Eric, Phil, Taylor, Kels, and this other girl who had a really pretty like genie dress on. We like all hung out and danced and socialized. Alot of ppl like my costume and I had pics with some of the kids and what they wore. They played alot of country, so I bet I looked pretty hott dancin a line dance in 80's attire, but it was great. I finally got Eric to put out some moves and I danced with Andrew and Kels some too. Then I was just dancing in a big group and this guy comes up and like we start to dance (like this is all rap music now...) and we getting close b\c everyone is packed together so I am like thinkin wtf I don't know you, so I think he read my mind b\c he soon introduced himself (Brent I think...) and we continued to dance and all, then later after more talking and dancing with everyone we got back together and I asked him where he was from. He said Houston and I was like neat, h-town represent, then he asked the same for me and I said Kingwood, then he blurts out that he goes to Kingwood high, and I like literally stopped dancing, so I'm thinking he has to be a senior so I ask and nope, he is not. He is in my grade and I have never seen him before in my life, and not only is he in my grade, he lives close to me and his lil siblings go to riverwood middle, just like mine...small world huh...I was speechless again. So I danced some more and finished the camara. Then Brook, Brent, Me, Eric, and some other kids walked back to southside. I gave Eric my cell to call us, b\c Kyle was supposely getting smores stuff to make smores in the commons at like 2 AM. Well low and behold Eric calls and dumbass Kyle dislocated his shoulder playing football earlier that day b\c he ditched on the disscussion grous...gay. But he was a trooper and actully got the stuff and we had a big party to make smores...there were actully alot of random ppl, so played football and alot of us just sat around and talked. I got cold so Eric and I went back to the dorms to get hoodies. Laura and Brook went inside but I stayed with the boys. Then around like 330 or 4 everyone quit and we went to sleep.
Sunday we had to be up and drop all of luggage in the commons before 8 so that was like again about 3 hours of sleep. I was pretty grouchy but managed to get everything done. Then we walked to northside for breakfast and roundtable groups. Everyone seemd pretty tired. We danced some and took pics in the groups. The we had are final speaker who dragged on the speech forever. Then the ending video was pretty cute. Eric and I were on it from the dance. After we all said thanks and clapped alot for the leaders we headed over to Reed to get our luggage and meet our rents. I gave my stuff to my dad. It was good to see him. Then I said goodbye to my crew and leaders and got everyones aim ofcourse. It was like a really fun weekend, more fun than I've had in a long time. And I am super pumped about college, except for the crazy sleep patterns...but that was cool.
I really think I could fit in well at A&M. They have alot of ways to get involved and make a difference. I also met the student body president and talked to him for awhile on everything, he was pretty cool. I took a pic too. I also loved all the traditions and whoops and the war hymn and friday night yell and 12th man...it was just soo cool. Everyone was close with everyone and it made me want to really go there. The weekend was so fun, and I can't wait to get my pics back tomo. I hope to keep talking with Laura and Nena...it would be freaking sweet to go spend another weekend with them...I hope that works out. MMM such a good weekend...to bad this week is gona suck...
