Last Monday, Alex had to go to the temp agency and get some paperwork and testing done, and after he was done with that, he came to visit. He didn’t stay very long, though. I didn’t do anything important on Tuesday or Wednesday, except I did go to Mom’s classes at the gym - a very nice workout.
Thursday, Mom and I went to go see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was an all right film, but not as good as the original three, of course. I’m not into giving spoilers, but let’s just say that at the end, even though I liked the closure given to the series, I turned to my mom and said, “What the hell was that?”
I went to Jennifer’s house after the movie and hung out with her, Krista, Nick, Leigh, The Frosch, and Kristin. I got home around 2:00, I’m guessing. Woo-hoo!
Friday was a lovely day. Alex and I were going to play putt-putt, but it was rainy. We called Scott and went to Carmel to hang out with him. We ate Chinese for lunch, and then went to Play ‘n’ Trade, where I bought a copy of Katamari Damacy. We also went to Best Buy and then went back to Scott’s house. We watched some Voyager and played Zombies Ate My Neighbors, which is actually a bit difficult at times.
Around 9:00, we went to Taco Bell for dinner, and then went to Blockbuster. We actually agreed on a movie - The Host - and rented it. We watched that back at Scott’s house, and it is an interesting movie. Scott was holding onto my arm at times, but it wasn’t too scary. Alex and I said goodbye and left around 1:00. We got to my house at 1:30, but we sat out in his car for a while. We talked a little, but mainly held each other. Leaving for two months is a difficult thing for me to do, but we will get through this.
Alex left and I went inside. I went to bed after opening a package I received from Borders. Inside were two Hot Chip CDs and The Book of Lost Things (Which I recently finished, but I wanted my own copy.).
Saturday was spent packing... when I wasn’t playing Katamari Damacy.
Sunday, I had to wake up bright and early, around 5:00. I didn’t sleep well, either, so that was fun. I got ready, put my suitcase in the car, and we left around 6:00 after I played one last round of Katamari Damacy.
We picked up Alex on our way to the airport. I thought he was crazy, but he insisted to see me off, which is really sweet. He presented me with a painting he did the night before, one of his first tries at painting. It’s of a lily. Aww.
We got to the airport, checked in, and then had a small breakfast. I said my goodbyes when it was time to go, and then I went through security. Well, I didn’t have proper ID because I’m an idiot, so I ended up going through stricter security. The guy who checked me through was trying to crack jokes, but I was too scared to laugh. The other officer who was going through my bag took too long, and apparently, I was being paged, but I couldn’t hear it. I almost missed my flight. Oy.
What matters is that I got on the plane and then had a smooth connection at Atlanta. I rather like the Atlanta airport, now that I know my way around it. I had a short second flight and landed in Birmingham, where I grabbed my suitcase and Dad and my brother Alex (It’s really weird to be dating someone who shares a first name with your youngest brother...) picked me up. We got home and I unpacked rather fast. I guess I didn’t have too much besides clothes. I have my Spock action figure standing besides Alex’s lily painting in my room. Makes me feel a little better.
I went to bed early, and I got to sleep in on Monday. Yay! I hung out and played the Wii - Cindy pre-ordered WiiFit, and it is a lot of fun. I also introduced David to the joys of Unbeatable Banzuke. Haha.
Tuesday was my first day of work. I spent all of it going through Photoshop tutorials, prepping myself for my main work. I answered the phone once and it was Winston. He forgot my name. I had work yesterday too, but I did about an hour and a half of filing, some mail work, clearing work orders, and taking photographs of parts for the catalog. I heard some birds chirping in the warehouse, and in the back I found a cage of doves, among a lot of other things. It was later explained that Winston Jr. was moving into an apartment, and he needed some storage space. As for the doves - he’s a magician. Interesting, huh?
Today went well. I did a lot of what I have been doing, plus photo editing, and that takes a long time. It took me two hours to finish one alone. I’m not going in tomorrow, because I’m watching the boys. That should be amusing.
