So, you know that interview I had with Mitch and James for desk staff/opening committee? Well, I didn’t get the job. I didn’t even receive an e-mail about it, and I should have gotten at least one of three e-mails (“You got the job,”“You’re an alternate for the job,” and “Sorry, you didn’t get the job.”) by last Tuesday. My friend Caitie got it, though, so I mean, I’m happy for her, but I’m also quite jealous, honestly. It makes me feel... unmarketable.
I had a conference with my English professor, Bill, on Thursday. We talked about anything but my project. I told him about my job problem, and he said that I should consider something in the English department, since that is my concentration. I’ll work on it. Also, I need to find a way to get some health insurance... I haven’t had a dentist appointment in a year (Eek!), and it is starting to worry me.
I went to Wal-Mart with Scott in the afternoon, and there was a setup of strawberry shortcake supplies. It didn’t take much convincing for me to buy some. Alex met us at Wal-Mart, and we went to Best Buy. We had a little mishap with dinner at the student center, and I felt pretty crappy about it since Alex ended up with cold food.
In the evening, we ended up watching Nemesis in Scott’s room, wrapping up all of the Star Trek movies. I also got the chance to point out the secret Wil Wheaton cameo in the shadows of widescreen. I felt like such a geek. :D
Friday was good. In fact, I never noticed how beautiful the weather got until it became warmer. Once the weather is nice, everyone is cheery and even though things may be going wrong, it doesn’t matter. I purchased a bike locker for next year and had lunch with Anna. When I got back, I made strawberry shortcakes and shared them. They were so very tasty. Yum!
The carnival was going on Friday night, and Alex and I were supposed to meet up with Jess and her boyfriend, Bob, but they pre-registered, and so did I, but Alex didn’t. So we waited until around 10:30, but the lines were crazy long. We were there for maybe ten minutes, saw the lines, and left. Missy and some other people waited two hours to go on one ride, and upon hearing that, Alex and I gave each other high-fives. Go us for not waiting in line!
We went to Meijer after midnight and picked up individual servings of ice cream, and they were delicious. I left around 1:30 and went to bed, then woke up around 10:30 on Saturday. I came back from my shower to find the television on the bed and Kayla disassembling the TV stand. Her dad came up to take more of her things home, including the previously mentioned items and the loveseat. They also moved some of the furniture back to their original positions. There’s so much space in our room now it’s weird.
I met Carly downstairs in the fishbowl around noon. Her mom came up and wanted to meet some of her friends, so she had invited me to lunch. We went to Bella’s Avanti, and it was a nice treat. Afterwards, I went with Alex to get items to repair his bike. We arrived back at his car to find that someone keyed it. Grr.
Alex fixed his bike, and I helped him with it if he needed it. Later on, we watched Battle Royale and Bedazzled. I left around 3:00 and went to bed. I got up around 12:00, and didn’t really do much on Sunday, although I started watching episodes of Breaking Bad online. I saw one episode over spring break, and I really enjoy it.
This morning, I woke up, ate breakfast, watched an episode of Breaking Bad, and went to class. Classes were really relaxing today. We started watching The Edukators in German class, and it is interesting. I picked my lunch up from Woodworth and ate it out in the Quad. Sarah and Austin found me there, and Sarah and I talked for a bit. We climbed into Timmy and read for a bit, and then I went back to my room and changed my clothes since I got dirt on them.
Alex took a mini-vow of silence this afternoon because Ruu was teasing him. I could actually communicate with him, though. It was entertaining. We played some Open Arena, and Tom spent a ton of his dining plus on pizza and a cheesecake from Woodworth to share with the lounge.
Right now, I’m just hanging out on my laptop in the lounge. The Boscars are going on - Botswin awards. I’m in the crowd in the back that don’t really belong... everyone else is dressed up. Mmm... guys in suits... Especially Alex. Woo my sexy man!
