Life is Fantastic.

Okay, let’s see... the battle of our heater grew more intense towards the end of last week. I came back from class and Kayla had turned it up from 2 to 6, and I turned it back down. The next day, I walked in and the window was open and the heater was on 7! I was thinking, “Oh HELL no! Do not touch!” But I think everything turned out all right, she hasn’t been messing with it too often, though she’s been sick with the common cold all week.

My EDSEC 150 class was cancelled again on Thursday because Dr. Wiedmer was still in jury duty. It was weird not really having that class for two whole weeks. Things just have been rather good lately, though finals are next week and classes are wrapping up.

On Friday night, there was a concert for the campus and symphony bands. Danny plays horn in the symphony band, so of course I was going to go. We went, and his parents were there. So, I got to meet them for the first time. They were really nice, but I was extremely nervous. I hope they don’t think I’m weird or anything because I was so quiet. I hope they don’t think I’m boring because I can’t play an instrument or I’m not too interested in sports. I hope they like me. I really do.

The concert was good, and there were a couple pieces I really like, one called “Sleep,” especially. Afterwards, everyone else went back to the lounge. I went with Danny back to Stu West so he could change out of his tux, and then we met with his parents again out there. Danny hadn’t had anything to eat, so we went to Applebee’s. His parents kept asking me if I wanted anything, but I wasn’t hungry. My appetite has been shot recently; I had to explain that I could barely finish what I buy anymore. I just sipped my lemonade and conversed.

Danny’s parents dropped us off in front of Botswin around 11:00, I think. We hung out in the lounge until 2:30 or so, and then Danny and I went back to his room and watched the Christmas episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip at his insistence. It was really good, even if I had never seen the show before. I liked it.

Saturday, I had a meeting with my group for our math project at 4:00. I got back from Danny’s room around 3:00. Yeah...crazy, I know. I took a shower and quickly ate something and made the meeting just in time. We went to Target to film a little bit, and then we returned and used Danny and Austin in a little commercial for our project, and it was highly amusing.

After my meeting, I hung out in Botswin all night, and we watched Clerks II at one point and it was a lot of fun. Danny and I went back to his room around 3:00, and then we watched South Park’s “Woodland Critter Christmas” and went to sleep around 6:00.

This time, on Sunday, Danny had a group meeting at 7:00. He had an audition on Monday, so he wanted to practice his horn a little bit, so we left around 5:45, and I didn’t get back to my room until after 6:00. I took my shower, and then I started to feel sick and dizzy, so much that I was still wrapped in my towel, fresh from the shower, and I had to lie down on my bed. Then I realized that I hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for over twenty-four hours! No wonder I didn’t feel well! I made sure I ate and drank some before going over to Botswin to hang out.

I still didn’t feel well for a few days earlier this week. My stomach still rejects food a lot, and one night I felt very warm and feverish. I’m getting better though, and I looked up the symptoms, and apparently I might have been suffering through panic attacks and not even known it...

The point is, I’m feeling better now. Lots better. That’s awesome!

Monday morning, I had my final teaching observation at Burris at 8:00. The teacher I was observing was amazing, too. I really enjoyed sitting in on her class. Hopefully that’s not the last time I get to share the same classroom as her. In fact, I felt like I got a lot accomplished on Monday. I wrote the rough draft for my English paper while sitting in Botswin, and I was actually sort-of sitting in on their hall council. I don’t even sit in on my own hall council...

Oh yeah, and one of the gifts I’m giving Danny for Christmas arrived in the mail on Monday. That excited me so much. I really hope he enjoys it.

Tuesday was pretty awesome. We finally had EDSEC 150 again, and Dr. Wiedmer surprised us by ordering Greek’s. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to keep the greasy breadsticks and pizza down, but I did, and it was delicious...

We didn’t want to go far to eat lunch, so I just met everyone at La Follette and we went back to the lounge. I did a double-take, though, because I was standing at the cashier line and Danny walked in and I said, “What are you doing here?!” I was so surprised. He didn’t have class at that time, though, so he got to hang out. I went to English class at 2:00 and came back afterwards. I had to do laundry at 3:30, so I persuaded him to come to my room and stay for a little bit. We just cuddled on my bed while my laundry was being washed, and he finally got to see my cranes all strung up, and my Christmas lights on, and the paper snowflakes on my window. That made me very happy.

Tuesday night, it began to snow. It was a light snow, but Danny liked how it stuck in my hair.

Wednesday was pretty good too, although our math test was okay. I had left my calculator in my other bag, so I did what I could without one, and then when Christy was done with hers, I asked if I could borrow it, and she let me. I hung out in the lounge the rest of the night, and I FINALLY finished One Hundred Years of Solitude. It took me three times to start reading it, and I finally made my way through it. I can’t believe that one book has taken me all semester to read! I am going to amend that next semester... I need to read more like I used to.

But... we got more snow! I woke up on Wednesday and there was so much snow! It gave me a giddy feeling inside. Sometime Wednesday evening, Alex, Danny, and I ran outside and attempted to throw snowballs at each other. The snow wouldn’t stick together, so we were just throwing fluffy clouds of snow at each other, and I made a lovely snow angel.

I talked to Caitie last night, too!  I was excited to see her. We made plans that next Tuesday when we are both free, we are totally going to watch movies and order pizza and have bonding time, since we haven’t been able to do that most of the semester. I’m really excited about it. Then, Dillon and I might be getting together and watching FLCL over break. Fun times.

Today was a good day, though I was sad that it was my last EDSEC 150 class. I might not have enjoyed it at times, but Dr. Wiedmer really understands and I am going to miss being under her instruction. We got to teach a mini-lesson today, and I taught my group the art of haikus, and we made some of our own that were fun.

I was hanging out in the lounge between my classes like normal, and somehow Lemmy and I were discussing S & M, and I said some things I probably should have thought about before I said them, but I didn’t. So now Lemmy is torturing me mercilessly and spreading my words of glory all over Botswin. It is a little embarrassing, yes, but it’s fine. Everything is fine.

Lemmy and I have come to terms that he is an asshole and I am a selfish bitch and we love each other and get along great despite this.

I went to English and turned in my final paper. Now, all I have to do is give a presentation on Wednesday for my final, and that will be easy.

I hung out in the lounge until Blake and Kile came to visit. Kile is leaving in a few weeks for basic training, and we won’t see him for a few months. Blake is married to Katie now and will be leaving in April for training. We ate dinner together and talked, and then they left. I had a floor meeting, but I couldn’t make it because I met with my math group again. We’re presenting tomorrow in class, and then we don’t have to do anything else for math. My last math class, ever, will be ending tomorrow! Yes!

Ah, I’m so glad to have my classes ending. Not so eager to go back to Pendleton, however. Danny and I have made plans that he’ll come down for the white elephant Christmas party that will be the Sunday after we get on break (the 16th), and then he’ll stay the night in Pendleton, and Monday morning we’ll leave and go to Fort Wayne, where I will stay for a few days. That will be interesting, I’m sure. Then, I’ll return back to Pendleton, and then on the 22nd, I’ll be going to Richmond and spending time with Dad and the rest of the family until they leave on the 26th. I’ll spend time with my mom, and maybe a few friends in Pendleton during the rest of the days.

I’m glad that Danny plans to visit me for my birthday, too. Especially since Ball State is going to the bowl game in Toronto (Fucking Toronto!), and he’ll have to leave on January 3rd and get back to campus on the 6th when classes start again on the 7th. Fucking bowl game...

Anyway, life is good, I’ve mostly got my health, we received snow, and I have an amazing love and great friends... hell, life is fantastic.
