The project I am currently working on was scheduled to be finished in the beginning of April. I found out last Friday that it needs to be done by the end of this week. This is a sad thing because I really wanted to move away from vanilla ASP into ASP.NET in this project. We'll see if I can pull it together in a reasonable fashion.
A coworker gave me a copy of a PDF called "ASP.NET Weekend Crash Course" that might be helpful. I should be able to finish the Access client tomorrow, thankfully the actual structure of the database has been done for months. Then I will have Thursday and Friday to see if I can get the website parts together, while they populate the database.
Today's bit of learning was:
Forms(0).ServerFilterByForm = False
Frighteningly enough, I got this from the Microsoft Access Visual Basic Help! Give that poor man in India a 5 cent raise for this gem.
Finally it stops applying a server filter on my form when the DoCmd function is executed.
In other exciting news, I hope to hear back about the job I applied for soon here. I heard there were 200 applicants, so I am not going to get my hopes up. It would be refreshing to have a change of environment, since I grow increasingly frustrated with the issues here. I never get to do my best work, only good enough, because everything is super rush. It's frustrating...but I don't want to dwell on that today, since I am happy I solved this particularly frustrating error.
I need to call Rosemary tonight and find out how she is doing, only 9 weeks to go now. I better find out what we are going to do about a baby shower.
