I moved to Nanaimo as of Monday, May 3rd. My gf arrived in Prince George on tuesday, April 27th and from there we packed, cleaned, and loaded her dad's truck up that she borrowed from her dad. We left on Sunday with most of the cleaning and such done and asked the people upstairs if they could drop off the stuff left behind at Value Village for donation to AimHi. AimHi is a service that helps mentally and physically disabled adults. We stopped in Boston Bar for the night and woke up early the next morning to heavy rain and heavy wind all the way from there to just outside Vancouver when it became sunny, waited in line for the ferry across. Arrived just after 2 PM in Nanaimo and now I live here. My gf is out of town working doing highway ditch cutting so I won't see her much until the late fall or even winter.
More to come in the following days as it comes to mind and I have the time to post :) Dipping my feet back into the social waters I have neglected for so long due to being emotionally sick/unstable/ill that living in PG was keeping me in. It's been a breath of fresh down here, literally even.
I had a 5 week long visit in february/march before the move, that is when I determined I needed this for my future mental health, well being, and progression of my life and goals.
