I've been performing a lot and studying Japanese that I haven't had time to draw or write in my notebook. It feels... kind of weird. Like a writer's block, but... for writing and drawing? Creativity block? Hahaha, I don't even know anymore. So anyways, I tried getting back into writing poetry so I tried my hand at writing couplets. Something simple, right? Rules seem easy: two lines, same number of syllables, end rhymes. Okay. I got this.
Here I am, trying out something to do
It's not much I know, but it's something new
When I get bored, things are pretty much set.
Stupid things will happen, things I'll regret.
Then I was like, whoa. Okay. No, I don't like the direction this is going in.
I'll try some haikus. Three lines, 5/7/5.
Haikus were promised
And days went by without them
So I'll go change that
Henry's not sexy
Even though he says he is
He's a stupid face.
But that wasn't working out either. And it looks like bullying.
So, I tried 6 Word Stories:
Read a book. It's more fulfilling.
travel! I think I can time
"Negative," she told her pee stick.
"Insult me." "I think you're cute."
"You douchebag." "I love you too."
"Freedom!" he yelled, running from practice.
Amber wants pearl milk tea. Go.
Word limit won't stop me from
Smile! I'm writing this for you!
Nothing's happening. Go back to sleep.
Relief. He sighed, flushing the toilet.
"I'm a boy!" Pinocchio's nose grew.
"I'm a real boy!" Nothing happened.
Cheesy bits lying around everywhere? Rats.
Rats sharing their food? That's cheesy.
Here's a link to other examples of 6 word stories. I was hoping to see if you guys could make something similar...?
They're pretty fun once you start writing some. I think you could go on a roll, even!
At least I didn't bring up pantoums, lol. Those are harder to write. ^^;
