This is my first go at writing a fanfic. Hopefully it'll turn out alright.
Title: Smile For Me
Author: Me =)
Anime/Manga: Cardcaptors
Pairing: Sakura x Li
Disclaimer: I do not own Cardcaptors or any of its respective characters. I am merely a crazed otaku with too much spare time on her hands.
The room was cast in darkness. Not a thing moved. The only source of light was from the full moon, visible through the thin curtains. The moonlight fell gracefully into the room, bathing objects so they resonated with a soft pale glow.
Syaoran Li struggled against his bedsheets. It was like being held prisoner, and these thoughts reflected in his dreams. He struggled even more, a fine sweat on his brow, trying to run from the monster that pursued him. But he couldnt run. He couldnt escape. He couldnt save her..
But then it all changed. He was standing in the middle of a grassy meadow, a light breeze ruffling his hair. The grass was emerald green and the sky a deep blue, with patches of white starlight so bright it looked like miniature suns danced in the heavens. There was no sound except for the wind amidst the grass.
Li took a few steps forward, amazed by what was around him. Looking up at the heavens, he saw a dark shape out of the corner of his eye. He spun towards it, thinking it might be another monster.
But it wasnt. It was human. It was a girl. It was...
Li's eyes opened wide.
It was Sakura.
The full moon was behind her, casting her in a luminescent white, elongating her shadow to a dark stretch in front of her.
It was perfect. She was perfect.
Li took a step forward, unable to believe his eyes, his mouth slightly open. He could smell her scent - it was just like the cherry blossoms of Japan.
Her eyes were closed, a small smile on her face. She opened them slowly and looked at him. His stomach clenched as those green eyes bored into his brown ones.
A hot tear flowed down his cheek, followed by another and another. He was crying. She was so close... but so far. He couldnt stand it.
She smiled at him and brushed the tears away. Her hand on his cheek, smiling that soft little smile, she spoke.
"Would you smile for me, Li-kun?"
He smiled. Her eyes lit up.
And then there was a rushing sound and he was back in his room, awake, tears falling from his eyes.
The orginal version of this was a bit different, but I think I prefer this version.
