The continuing adventures of Folagar Boffen.
Folagar visits the Old Forrest and meets some very strange and wonderful folk.
So he stops in at Bywater to visit the Green Dragon.
He sits by the fire... relaxing with friends.
And listens to a storyteller spin his yarns.
Before leaving the Hobbiton area he stops to have a smoke at the 'Party Tree' remembering his friend Bilbo and his wonderful party.
Then... he is in the 'Old Forrest'. A very dark and frightening place...
He sees a spring in the distance and a beautiful lady stands there beckoning to him!
She stands amid the lily pads and she says her name is Goldberry. She asks Folagar to take a message to her husband. There's trouble in the Downs.
Folagar follows her directions, and meets up with her husband, Tom Bombadil. Tom tells him that he must kill a dangerous Wight living in the Downs.
Folagar stands before the 'Dead Spire'... the Downs are very frightening for a little Hobbit.
But like Frodo before him, he finds his courage and battles the Wight.
Then stops to mine some barrow-iron with the mounds in the distance.
He leaves the downs and leases a horse to ride to Bree. He's been given a message that there is a deed for him there.
He arrives at his destination, the 'Prancing Pony Inn'.
And speaks to the proprietor, Barliman Butterbur who gives him his next assignment.
