What's inside my fridge?

Hmm.. well, it's a little bare right now because I just got home from a long weekend away. But, OK. Salad fixings, fat free dressings, Honey Crisp Apples, Frozen blueberries, LOTS of fat free cottage cheese, carrot and celery sticks, coffee, Squash, watermelon spears, cantelope spears, diet orange crush, eggbeaters, in the freezer there are tons of frozen veggies and Weight Watcher entrees. That's all I can think of for right now other than the usual catchup, mustard, fat free mayo, spray butter, etc....

Got back yesterday from Port Angeles. It was just a fabulous weekend. We honestly didn't know that the big Dungeness Crab Festival was going on when we decided to go there for a long weekend, but we won't make THAT mistake again! We'd walk down the 2 blocks or so from our motel at night at have the greatest dinners for not much money. Crab cakes, crab friend rice, crab, and on and on and on. LOTS of vendor tents, lots of music, tons of great food. It was fun. We didn't stay at the motel where we usually stay while in Port Angeles, the Red Lion Inn, because when we tried to make reservations there they were sold out... because of the festival. But that won't happen again either. Before we left we made reservations there for NEXT year!! Our motel this year was fine, but the Red Lion is RIGHT on the water and only a short walk to the festival tents. We like that. So we'll be returning there for next year's Crab festival.

Did a 5K walk the first day we were there... Friday that was. Then on Sunday we went to Cape Flattery and Neah Bay. We drove a few miles to the trail head, then walked 3/4 of a mile to the overlook at Cape Flattery, the northwestern-most point in the continental United States. It was a rough trail for me... not so much for Cathy. There was a lot of elevation and I'm not good with hills. Thanks to my years of smoking my lung capacity is probably half what it should be, so I get really winded on hills. BUT.. I pushed through and made it anyway. And it was well worth it. The views were glorious. The drive to Cape Flattery and back is one of the most beautiful in Washington. Fantastic national forest on one side and the beautiful Strait of Juan de Fuca on the other. Beautiful, rocky coastline the whole way. We loved it.

A creek we passed along our 5K walk on Froday.

Our motel was just behind us. We walked down a long flight of stairs to get to the town, which you can see below. The white festival tents are in the upper right.

Cathy by a fountain at the bottom of the stairs. You can see the stairs behind the fountain. I could get down them just fine, but NOT up!

Me by the fountain.

The view as we walked back to our motel after dinner. The courthouse museum and the Olympic mountains in the background.

The ONE level part of the trail we walked at Cape Flattery.

Views of Cape Flattery.

Cathy at the edge of a cliff!! And Tatoosh Island behind her.

The caves at Cape Flattery, there are MANY of them! Gorgeous!

Driving home we saw a whole herd of Elk in a field. Stopped to take their picture.
