I wish I lived in New York!!!
And congratulations to those who do for living in a state that places ethics and principles over religious doctrine and dogma. I'm so glad that they chose to do what is 'right' instead of what some religion... any religion... dictates.
Religion and religious values... though certainly worthy of respect... have NO place in politics. This is an issue that should not have even NEEDED to be debated. How could we possibly call ourselves Americans and condone any governmental attempt to institutionalize the kind of bigotry which forbids loving gay couples to marry and have the same rights under the law as a couple who just happens to be straight.
I'm thrilled for the gay couples in New York who can now marry if they so choose.
