And Hanukkah. And A Great New Year.
I'm still alive, in case anyone I remember still does LJ. (I hope they do)
I brought a new four-legged friend into my life, but she's not a dog. She's a cat. I am now owned by a nearly 9-month-old very demanding and affectionate Sphynx kitten. Her name is Evening.
I am still a dog person, but now I am also Evening's person.
The experience of sharing one's life with a cat has been interesting, to say the least. I have never been responsible for one before, much less spent much time with them, until Evening came to live with me in September...
I'm still down 80 lbs. from my highest point back in 2021. I'm out of the plus sizes and into the normal, but I would like to knock off at least another 10 pounds. Maybe I can manage it in 2024. Otherwise, my health remains decent: my cancer is under control and there is much less of it than there was in late 2018/early 2019 when the diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer was given. Arthritis has increased and is proving more annoying; but Tylenol is proving quite useful.
I try not to watch the TV news much; it's so depressing, between Ukraine and the Middle East and global warming...It's a good thing that I still enjoy going to dog shows as well as watching them on TV, not to mention all the Star Trek shows, and other things.
Let's hope that 2024 will be better than 2023, for the world and all those we cherish.
