All you can eat sushi made to order!
I was having dreams on NYC excusions in Nyack. I was psyched, the price was right and my appetite is right. Locals had told me it was a good place and that the food was definately worth it.
I was sorely disappointed.
The rundown
2 Orders Shrimp Shumai -decent, old favorite, not done poorly, but not great
Pork Gyoza - Basic, nothing special
Pork Katsu - Very good
Shrimp Tempura - bland
Vegetable Tempura - only 1 vegetable, see shrimp
Spring Rolls- waste of space on my plate
Miso Soup- Good, but nothing special
Now the fish
15 pieces of sushi - shrimp, clam, red snapper, tuna, salmon, squid, octopus: Compltely unimpressed. By the end I was forcing it down with water because they charge you extra if you don't finish something.
3 rolls - 2 Philly, 1 Spider: Now i was psyched for a place that has spider roll on an all you can eat menu. While it wasn't bad, there was barely any crab and no sauce. The Philly rolls were the sole real saving grace of the sushi deal. Then again I'ma sucker for avacado and cream cheese.
Green Tea Icea Cream - Good ending to any japanese meal.
All in all, I won't be going back. I wish i had struck the gold i was looking for.
