Versailles Live Report
Yesterday I went to see Versailles at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. They played on the main stage.Ima start this out from the begining of my day so feel free so skip it.This is my 1st time writing a live report. My memory is kinda foggy but i remember alot of what happened. If I made a mistake somewhere feel free to correct me(nicely).
I got up in the morning and got ready for school and left. So as my mom was drivng me to school she asked if i was still going to the concert. I answered yes and asked if she was still taking me and my friends. She said she wasent sure if i deserved a ride.wtf?
So anyways, I go to school and luckly every tuesday we get out at 2:07 PM. Me and my friend Thali walked home together and I tell her i will call her when we are gonna leave so that my mom could drive us over.(God i need to get my license=\)I go home wake up my brother because he was coming too and we were ready by 3:30 but my mom didn't want to leave so we ended up leaving around 4:00PM.
We were dropped off a block from the venue and walked the rest of the way.I didnt think there was gonna be more than 40 people for so waiting because Versailles is an indie band but i the other half of me expected it.The line went from a pharmacy next to the venue to around the corner.(wtf they didn't let us stand there when we went to see blood.fucking security)We got in line and left my brother and my other friend Castulo to stay there because we had to go buy Thali's mom a present for her B-Day. We left but came back 20-30 minutes later because my brother said the line was moving.wtf is was only 5pm. They moved us inside the venue to where the small stage is and they said we could wait around till they let us in.Finally 2 hours later they let us in to the main stage and everyone pushes through the hall to get to the stage.
We got in and we were going to go center but it there was too many people there so we went to Hizaki's side which was way less crowded. We ended up 7th row or so.Me and Thali are really short. Im 5'0 and she is about 5'2 and we had some really tall chick right between us so we could barely see.The crowd shifted and then we could see way better.Since there was an hour before show started i went to buy merch. I wanted a shirt but they ran out of medium shirts. So i bought some buttons to put on my bag. But i really wanted the shirt so i decided to get a large but then they ony had Extra large>.< I bought it anyway. Maybe i can fix it somehow to get it smaller. It was the 2nd to last shirt left.yay.I went back and found my 2 friends and waited for the show to start.
The show started around 8:15 or so i dont remember. I thought the opening band was pretty cool. Everyone was really respectful and they cheered for the band. Not much I can say about them since I dont listen to them.After the opening band left a screen came down and crew members pulled curtains to block the stage.While we waited photographers started taking pictures of the crowd from the 2nd level. For some reson a couple of people randomly started to chant for X Japan.Wrong concert buddy. Its like me chanting for 12012 at a Dir en grey concert. They started to check the mic and the instruments and everyone cheered. When they finished that someone came out that I really dont like. Roger from Tainted Reality. <.< He pumped up the crowed a bit and said this is Versailles second time playing at the states and that they had sold out that night. awesome! He also announced Suicide Ali at PMX! YAY! He pumped the crowed up a little more and left. Then the intro started to play. So dramatic
I dont know who came out 1st because Im too short to see the the stage good enough. Here is a crappy description of the members. Hizaki had his hair in curls it made his hair look big.He was wearing that red dress he wore in their recent photoshoot. He has such a blank stare its funny. Im not sure if it was the lighting but Jasmine's dress look like a golden champagne. It was very elaborate and it seems hard to play in a dress like that while lights are shining all over. He must have been really hot. Also it looked like a bird crashed into his big hair because thats what his hair accessory look like, a dead bird. I couldent get a good view of Teru but it looked like he was wearing a blue outfit and some of his tummy was showing. His hair looked really spikey. I really like the color it was black and silver/white.It looked like Kamijo had a dark blue outfit on. He kept on swishing his cape thing. His hair was curled and in a sort of updo with some of it falling out. He was also wearing white contacts which looked really nice on him. I only saw Yuki once and he was wearing a black sleeveless outfit and matching arm warmers. May i add that he has really nice arms.
This is the set list I remembered. I think I messed up the order of the second MC and 1 of the songs. I dont think I missed anything. If I messed up somewhere nicely correct me.

The Revenant Choir
Love from a dead orchestra was awesome. I love the guitars in that song.Kamijo announced Shout & Bites before they started playing it. I think beast of desire was next. Kamijo has such a beautiful voice. Woot my favorite song was next Zombie. I was headbanging when the guitars started but everyone was clapping instead so i switched to clapping. lol It was still awesome.The crowd was screaming some of the parts like "Raise!" and
"come here! come here". MC was next and i think Kamijo was trying to speak french because i heard "bonjour"and some other french word. Then he said "genki desu ka?" and the crowd cheered. He was also saying something about America. For the songs that i think are new the 1st one was really catchy because of the way the lyrics were sung. The second song there was no instruments (but i think there was a piano) and i think the rest of the band members left the stage at that time.It was a slow song and the crowd had their hands up and was swaying to the song. The lighting was a blue color. Im such a sucker for slow songs. I really want to know the name of it.After the song was finished i didnt see anyone on the stage anymore. Then a minute later everyone came back but Kamijo and played an instrumental song.This is where i got confused. Im not sure if they played Aristocrat's Symphony next or if they did an MC. Ima go with Aristocrat's Symphony though. I loved it. In this next MC Kamijo went to the front of the stage and said something along the lines of "All of you are my lovers." lol. He started saying something in japanese, pumped up the crowd more and then they started playing SUZERAIN. I headbanged somewhat but was fist pumping more and throwing the horns. lol. During Forbidden gate we were headbanging to the chorus. Red carpet day was the best. Thats where everyone started to do crazy headbanging and the reson my neck still hurts.There was more swaying to Sympathia. The band then left the stage. The crowd started to chant for an encore but they were chanting it like they do in japan.It died really fast but was replaced with chants for"1 MORE SONG!" after 10 minutes the band came back for the last song which was The Revenant Choir. The crowd really got into it. My favorite part was when Kamijo sang "They called it..." and then he pointed the mic to the crowd for them to sing "The red carpet day". The crowd was moving crazily. The song then finished and the band was throwing there things. Hizaki threw his pic and it landed on the head of the chick in front of me. The crowd surged to get it and if fell. When that happened i dropped like a stone on my knees to find it. I didnt see it.=\ The crowd moved again and it dropped right in front of me and i grabbed it.WEEEEE!. I stood up and the crowd surged foward again. For some reson i decided to step back. Then the drumstick flys to the area im in. Everyone reaches for it and its fumbles around. Me and this one girl grabbed it. I pulled it, she pulled it back, i pulled it again and i look at her, she looks at me then i look at the drumstick in my hands and for some reson i let it go.=,( In my mind i thought "well i have a pick already". I regreted it the moment i let it go. *sigh*
Anyway it was such a fun night. This is my 3rd concert of 2008. Next up AYABIE!!! (hopefully)
