The Birthday review.
I had a great birthday party. Thanks go out to Anne and Asher (who could not attend) for allowing the space, and everyone who showed up and made it a very fun time.
First off was the movie “Jumper” which people seemed at least okay with, except Michelle who felt it was boring. :D In attendance was Doug, Nichole, Turtle, Michelle, Ben and Matt.
After the movie, Doug and Nichole headed home, Turtle and Michelle headed off to rejoin us later, leaving Ben, Matt and myself to hit up Woodstocks for lunch.
After that, we headed to Costco to pick up Rockband (their last in stock) and look for a Chocolate Banana Cream Pie, which they were sold out of. In talking about buying Rock Band or not, Ben went to get cookies. Coming back with cookies, he asked if I was after the aforementioned pie. I said yes, he said, “I’ll be right back” and went to get one of the last two of who knows how many had been put out and picked up since I’d been there! Cookies, Pie and Rock Band enabled, we headed to Asher and Anne’s.
We kicked around a few games, I wanted to see what Burnout Paradise looked like on the 360. It seemed the same as the PS3 version. This is about when ‘Becca showed up, I think. Then calls for setting up the band were made. I had a lot of fun putting the thing together. I have no idea how the stuff would fit back in the box if it had to go there. ><
We then proceeded to play Rock band for about 3 hours and had a blast doing it. Turtle and Michelle rejoined us and everyone was taking turns playing. We had some great singing by ‘Becca and Michelle. Everyone agreed that drumming was super hard, but several people were surprised at how much they enjoyed it.
I put candles on the pie. We had a “3” and a “7” left over from last year and I added one extra. I called it, “37 + 1”. I made a wish, but as the master of the time space continuum wasn’t around to grant it, nothing happened. ;)
We then proceeded to play Rock Band until the wee hours of the evening, still rocking out and having a great time. Eventually everyone went home, the end. :)
