You cannot imagine how much this pisses me off.
Look at the video. Look at it! That kind of shove is ENTIRELY unnecessary. And now an innocent man will never have his life - but hey, I'll bet the officer felt better after the shove. Maybe not now, but he's still able to have his life.
What's worse is AFTER that pig (not all cops are pigs - but this one is) did the damage, he then starts to yank him around like a ragdoll.
For those that say "he shouldn't have run" that doesn't make the shove excusable. It's entirely unrelated. That's like saying it's ok for someone to maim a person, cause the 'maimee' had maimed someone else.
The officer, if he had had a shred of professionalism, should have:
1) stopped
2) ordered suspect to lay down
But then I guess he wouldn't have gotten his own physical outlet - which of course is paramount. /s
There is no way to tell what kind of cop you're about to deal with. Maybe the next one is decent guy with intelligence, or you get the guy who was always a bullying asshole, with subpar IQ, is going through a divorce, and you have committed a crime that just pisses him off (whatever it might be, simple speeding, jaywalking, etc).
I've got stories, and my friend have stories. Events that have happened where an officer is just a plain asshole - including one instance where a friend was told to stay on his knees for over an hour (which, frankly, IS a form of torture - and this in Seattle) due to a little solo motor cycle play (a wheelie) on empty streets in the evening in SODO.
To be fair, I've stories on the other side too (decent cops), but the bad cops need to be gotten rid of.
The only problem: if you make a complaint, that officer will have it in for you. He may even decide to cite you for stuff that he decided against at the time (for whatever reason). People /know/ this. Why do you think most don't complain? For every complaint, I can nearly guarantee there's 10 more than didn't for fear of retribution by the cop and his 'brothers' (fuck their 'brotherhood' elitism btw - that has NO place in a civil protection agency).
Be careful kids! Yessir/Yesmaam every cop and if they order you to do something, no matter how silly, just do it. Better than getting slammed down cause you didn't follow quick enough and then the life you previously had a right to is gone.
