happy fun, for the most part.

Today it is upwards of 60 degrees, and tomorrow it will snow. Ah, Wisconsin.

I skipped German class today, and went to Chipotle with Natalie and Anna instead (after a long and drawn out quagmire of unnecessary walking and standing in line to obtain an official transcript at the registrar's...). It was a nice mental health break. Unfortunately, the free campus busses and the Van Hise elevators then conspired to make me late for a meeting back on the 13th floor. But hey, anything for barbecoa burritos.

Had fun in Swedish yesterday playing Jeopardi!, though my students pointed out that I didn't write the questions as answers...oops. It was still fun, though...plus everyone got candy and that's always good.

And still happy about most of the election results, though of course I am most disappointed that Wisconsin voted yes on the marriage amendment. I guess I can comfort myself with the knowledge that Dane county is an oasis of "no" votes. "Liberal pit of hell" that we are, of course :P

On the downside, I am a total wuss and caused great drama at my house last night. We took a little break from our movie (In Her Shoes, which was a bit of a tearjerker) and I caught sight of Idgie in the foyer and decided to grab her. She darted for the couch and I darted after her, and stepped on a nail-type thingy, which punctured my foot :( Owww. I freaked out a little bit, and all the roomies came running and rescued me. Laura hopped me over to the couch. Erin helped me remove my sock and inspected the (surprisingly tiny) wound. Emily swabbed me with alcohol. I managed to stay conscious throughout, which I am proud of...no matter how intrigued I am by other people's wounds, I have a tendency to pass out when I get cut by stuff. And a nail in the foot has always been one of my worst fears. Baaaaah, I feel gross just thinking about it. Anyway, I barely bled at all, but it hurts to walk on. So of course I walked to campus today, and all over campus as well...ow.
