Stuff keeps happening that I mean to write about on here, but.

Well, one good thing is that the latest (and, sadly, last) book in the Series of Unfortunate Events triscadekology came out a few weeks ago, and I am in the middle of reading it right now. Things like determining whether manuscripts are 13th-century Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, or Icelandic keep getting in my way, though :) If for no other reason, everyone should read the Series just for the creative definitions of difficult words.

I was in Philadelphia last weekend for the North American Swedish Teachers' conference. Despite the missing the Halloween party at my house and the 36 hours without sleep and the terrifying plane ride, it was fun. Swedish author Håkan Nesser gave a speech, and there were two speeches by a woman from Språkrådet, which is a Swedish language bureau. I also got to meet other Swedish TAs from all over the country (yes! they exist!).

My cat remains totally and devastatingly darling, but she's getting pudgy.

I had more fun last week in Swedish class...I wrote madlibs, and they ended up being pretty hilarious ("you are longer than a dirty dog!" "you are older than an ugly frog!"). Fun.

And this weekend is the very last outdoor Farmers' Market of the year, so we are going to brave the extreme cold and head down there.
