Last day in Sweden! Oj oj oj!

I've had a great last couple days here...at first I thought I would mostly be really bored waiting around to fly home, but that has not been the case at all. Some highlights:

On Tuesday I celebrated Julia's birthday with her, and she sent me a picture of the two of us, complete with requisite nipple-grabbing Swedish guy in background.

The farewell dinner on Thursday night was great fun, and it was wilder than last time. I had Swedish-speaking friends on one side and English speakers on the other, so the entire evening was an exercise in rapidly switching languages. Here's a picture of our table. I had the Many Kinds of Liquor: champagne, snaps, wine, beer, gin and tonic, and Irish cream (stretched out over 8 hours, which is how long this thing lasted). WE from the pop music class sang our version of Mamma Mia, including the lines "yes, we've been rarely carded...drunk since the day we started...why, why, can't we let the nations go...UISS, now we really know, my my, we're not alcoholics, though!" and "one more crayfish and I'll shag everything." Hee. Later on all the Americans got up onstage and performed an impromptu version of "Yankee Doodle." And all the Japanese girls taught us how to say "moshimosh" when you answer the phone.

After the dinner we danced and danced, to many fun songs. And took lots of pictures...here's one of me and Sachiko and Elsa with our teacher Ulrika.

After sleeping for a mere 5 hours, I got up and ate leftover kebab for breakfast. It sounds like a terrible, gross thing to eat for breakfast, but it was really good. Went well with my coffee. I met Julia one last time for lunch later on, and then we went shopping and to the Uppland museum. I hadn't high expectations for it, but it was lots of fun. They have a temporary exhibition about hair, and you can try on fun wigs. Like this and this. (And that is why I don't have short hair.)

And guess what else they have at the Uppland museum? A play village! Starring Pettson and Findus!!! Sven Nordquist, the author, designed a little play place for kids. So here I am at Pettson and Findus' house, and here's Julia in the playhouse. Here I am with a mysteriously pantsless Findus, and here's some illustrations on the outside of the playouse...they come from the books.

After this excursion I went to Akademibokhandeln and did away with the rest of my Swedish cash on boooooooks. I finally got my Swedish-English medical dictionary (yay! yay!). And now I am going to go make my carry-on bag as light as possible, and watch TV and go to bed! And in 30 hours I will be home.
