That's a good idea, and I'd say include it in all apps, on the off-chance that they are given that sort of power. It could help the players develop and get to know their characters a little better before entering them into the game, which is always a good thing.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'd advise just allowing one version of a character to be apped; it's more fair to give players a choice, but you don't get as much confusion. I think most people would lean toward the original versions of the characters anyway, and they wouldn't know who Maleficent is. And besides, it's mostly just Disney and original KH characters that know her, right?

Pick a few people - like I said, two at the most; I hear that more mods means more disagreement and badly run games - that you think would be interested and trust to be a good mod. Ask them to help out; if they refuse, just find someone else. That part freaks some people out, but it's pretty easy if you know where to look. And I know you know plenty of people that know the main canons involved, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to find another mod or two, if you decide to run it.

My thought process is this (on the FF KH thing):

Someone apps "Leon". If, somehow, one of the worlds to open up was the world from FFVIII... there would be a big gaping hole in the story as there is no Squall. Like giant gaping hole in plot that I can't tapdance out of. Now this isn't very likely unless I get a huge fan of VIII to be another mod. As I really really disliked VIII and haven't a lot of desire to make it an event. But the same issue could come up with Vivi for IX, Cloud for VII, etc. Also there would be the fact that "Leon" would be tied to Hollow Bastion, which would be the home for all people that kick puppies.

(See with the Ansem students all of them are Nobodies now so I don't have to worry about them. HB is the home for Maly and the Council of Doom. Braig and the others make it very easy being DEAD!) The kids at Destiny Islands I could easily write around and say "They were lost in the darkness and I will cut you if you say otherwise", I could probably sidestep Zack too but I actually like Olympus Zack. This is 'things to discuss with the other mods when...' topics, I think. >.>

I know plenty of KH and FF fans. You know plenty of KH and FF fans. I know you know I know that a lot of them are too busy to help me. >.>
