a crapload of duct tape
i have tape. duct tape. in many, many colors. including chrome and turquoise.
i found much tape-y coolness for the "enchanted sword bookmarks" i devised for the "brisingr" release party. i don't give a flying crap about the books; they're lame at best. but i've got the coolest craft activity on the planet! i'm also looking for a nifty dragon-y shade of blue spray paint to use on the eggs we'll be handing out at the door full of treasures and which activity to begin with on one's journey to becoming a "master wizard". i need a shiny gold accent to make the eggs more fantastic, so i'll be off to home depot tomorrow to see if they have something splattery and textural. not all the eggs will need the blue paint as they're already a lovely shade of turquoise(which the tape i found creepily matches), so they'll just get a blast of whatever gold i find to help them blend in. the actual color of the eggs may come through a bit, so we may well end up with many unique shades. that's what you get when the 15-year-old boy gives the description of the dragon eggs as blue. nothing else, just blue. the beast inside could grow up to be a 30 foot long, 1200 lb. robin for all the detail this twerp gave. so i have 250 eggs to give a bluey mood and character. bah, easy!
