My life as of late, in no particular order...

61 calls today.  Why can't everyone be healthy?  Stop taking freaking sick days!  I think I'm one of two people on my 10 person team that has not gotten sick in the last two months.

Also, I got a super cute jacket at Kohl's Saturday, and they failed to remove the security plastic thing.  This is made even more annoying by the fact that they neglected to remove the last one on a shirt I purchased.  I think they just fail at life...  And of course I discovered it right before I left this morning after planning my whole outfit around it.  Figures.

rhb and I tackled a huge and rather daunting, precariously stacked pile of dishes yesterday.  No idea where they came from, since we did them all Thursday/Friday night, but it was quite impressive.  (Okay, I do know where some of them came from... an apple pie, a delicious breakfast, and an even more delicious dinner.  I remember now the downside of cooking real meals.)

We also did 4 loads of laundry this last weekend (and I stained rhb's brand new shirt in the process).  Can you tell my Labor Day weekend was fun?

What was fun, though, was eating lots of pie at my brother's house, and entertaining 4 children with two cell phones.  The two youngest found it great fun to see how fast they could die playing Ka Glom (a free game I found for my phone that's kind of lame).  I don't think they really grasped how to play it.  But Bejeweled 2 kept the older two fascinated for quite a while.

I've been doing lots of reading lately, as usual.  This weekend I finished Chalice, by Robin McKinley, and Dragon Flight, by Jessica Day George.  I started Starman by Sara Douglass after reading the first two books in the same trilogy last week and the week before.  And I have a huge stack of books from the library waiting for me.  Yay!

We had another writing group party on Friday... Rock Band, Castle Crashers, Pushing Daisies, hamburgers, and birthday cake (that not enough people ate and now we are stuck with the rest).  It was quite fun, as it always is.  And the best part is I actually got paper cups and plates for this one, so there were hardly any dishes!  (Which further deepens the mystery of where they all came from...)

Speaking of Rock Band, I'm getting better.  Now I can play some songs (haven't explored exactly how many yet) on Expert (on bass, anyway) and pretty much any song except the two hardest on Hard on guitar.  Still don't care for the drums, but I enjoy singing if I know the songs... and I'm definitely expanding that list!  rhb will always be better than I am, but he's making me practice lots and I have improved quite a bit since we got it.
