Waxing philiosophical
There is a regional young single adult activity tonight: ice skating. It started one minute ago. In the entire region, I think I know one person who might go. Boo. Everyone else is camping, or recovering from surgery, or out of town. How dare they... so that combined with the fact that it's half an hour away means I am not seeing much incentive to go... however, it would be a fabulous way to put off packing even longer... I leave for the airport in 8 hours. Haven't even started packing. In fact, I haven't even finished unpacking from my last trip. Okay, so there's really only like 3 things left in my suitcase, but that still counts as not being finished. What incentive did I have to put away my suitcase? I would have gotten it out again 6 days later. Besides, I'm hardly in my room anyway, except when I sleep, and then I'm asleep, so I don't really care that I can't see half my floor.
Now, my shoes spilling out of my closet bothers me. Even though it shouldn't based on my reasoning above. But shoes do not stay contained like suitcases do. They sprawl. Clearly they need a new pair to keep them in check. :) Hmm... let's count how many pairs I ought to bring on this trip... I'm going to Utah for a family reunion. 1 pair of flip flops. 1 pair of tennis shoes (to hike the Y at least, if I am not too lazy to get up insanely early). 1 pair of sandals for church. And maybe one more for good measure... (and yes, I still say MAY-sure, not meh-sure...) That's not too bad. Nothing's definite though until I decide what clothes to bring, which will largely be determined by what isn't dirty, since I'm not doing laundry.
Speaking of waxing, the moon tonight was gorgeous when I was driving at dusk. Huge and low on the horizon. I managed to stop gaping long enough to concentrate on driving, but it was a near thing. Apparently I don't get out enough.
Sigh. All right, I guess I'll go pack. I'd rather do that than change the kitty litter in the litter box. Maybe I'll play the piano first though to get psyched up for it.
