Dilemma.

I found out recently that Dr. Ibarra wasn't a "terror prof" in terms of what I had originally perceived; my blockmates (X2) sat in her class today, and she was very accommodating and explained very well. What really made her a "terror prof" was her outrageous exams.

However, our exams in Acc20 are DEPARTMENTAL, so even we non-Ibarra students wouldn't be spared from their challenging nature. I perceive this as a disadvantage on our part, since we wouldn't know what she expects from us, since our proferssor has a different style of teaching from Ibarra; he tends to sidetrack a lot, and isn't that "organized" in his way of teaching. Also, he tells us what we already know -- well, I've read it in the book -- and dwells on that, rather than teaching us what we don't know yet.

So to cope with this, I'm considering sitting in her classes, but the only one that fits my schedule is MWF 11:30-12:30pm; but that'd be quite suicidal, since I have MWF classes 8:30-11:30, then 12:30-1:30pm. So parang medyo lang... uhhh 5 successive classes three times a week @-) =))

On the other hand, she has another class MWF 2:30-3:30pm, which coincidentally falls on the same time slot as my Philo sit-in class for Metaphysics. What's good about this is that I'm ensured to have people I know there; my blockmates told me of their intention to sit-in there consistently. Also, the amount of readings required for Metaphysics, and the amount of time and effort it would require from me could instead be used for my core subjects, which are presumably "more important" from an academic standpoint; I could get better grades this way.

The thing is, even if it would be better for my health and sanity to give up that Metaphysics class for the Acc20 class, I'm hesitating from doing so; I've been excited for this class ever since the start of classes, and would really want to take it seriously.

So basically, my dilemma is of a pragmatism VS passion one; do I:
(1) Abandon the Metaphysics class for the Ibarra class (this would do wonders for my academic AND social life)
(2) Sit-in in both Metaphysics and Ibarra's class, maintaining a mantra of "mind over matter" and undergoing some sort of Reg-mode, while hoping and praying for the best that I can survive this 1st sem with additional 2 sit-in classes aside from my original 18+5 units AND org duties (Sipnayan, volunteering in 1st sem events; at wala pa nga ADS debate training dito, if ever).

GAH. =))
