I think I've been given the world's most useless corporate freebie. As far as I can tell, one end goes into a USB port and the other end converts into various mobile phone adapters, I can only assume for charging. The point is - this thing is pretty much the same size and weight as a phone charger. Why would anyone want or need to carry such a thing? The regulations have limited the value of freebies to a pretty minimal levels to stop our poor souls being corrupted into writing BUY notes about the companies that hand them out (yes, we're all apparently corporate whores). Still, some companies manage to eke something original out - one randomly came out with a gourmet jam. Got the logo into people's minds ... so I guess pretty effective for the fiver it must have cost.
Spent at least half an hour today looking for silly pun headlines in Reuters. You know the ones, the ones the journalists are clearly trying to slip past the editor for a bet. For some reason I have an idle fascination with spotting them .. such gems as (and all of these are, based on memory, real or thereabouts)
"Software sector crashes"
"Acid test for chemicals sector"
"Vodafone rings the changes"
"Semiconductors : the chips are down"
"Oil sector slips"
"New depths for mining sector"
Does sometimes get me wondering what potential there might be ... any suggestions?
