I just took the political compass test and it seems my beliefs are closest to that of The Dalai Lama.  Also close to my beliefs is Ralph Nader.  Now, both Obama and McCain are way opposite of me (Sarah Palin, as I've said before is a Nazi...she is closest to Hitler than anyone else).  So the question is, do I vote with my conscious, for the person ( Read more... )

Don't trust the political compass test to tell you what the candidates are like.. If you want to know who you should vote for--go to the candidates websites and check out their positions. Then, you can have a better idea whether YOU agree with the candidate--or whether you are agreeing with what someone else thinks the candidate is like..

A good place to start: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

and

You know--I think I also took that test and it gave me a result that says I'm a socialist--but wait.. I just went and took it and it says I'm just like Gandhi and the Dalai Lama too.

Still, I voted for Obama--I think that he's the best shot for attempting to get the country back on track. Ralph Nader--for all the good he did long ago in the past--is an egotistical crank at the moment. And I don't think that someone who claimed in 2000 that there was no real difference between Al Gore and Dubya really has a clear perspective on reality.

Anyway.. those are my thoughts.. :)

I gotta go run around now doing stuff for teaching tomorrow!

Well, I have been following each candidate. I suppose I could read more...not sure where it will get me. Indeed, Obama is the more favorable of the two but there are things that make me worry, like HOW is he going to back up all the promises he is making? Can't steal it all from the rich to feed the poor.
Most likely I will vote for Obama in the end but quite honestly, I hate politics and I don't think anyone could match my ideals so it doesn't much matter. It will be the lesser of two evils because there is never going to be anyone in politics who thinks like I do....that's why I'm in the medical field. You have to care about people to work in the medical field, you have to care about yourself to be a politician.
