What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
I tried to think of something new I did this year but everything is drowned out by the fact that the experience of trying to parent two children makes anything else new I might have done this year pale in comparison.
Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't have any new years resolutions and I probably won't have any this year either. I just back to see if I did my best and I succeeded in some areas and didn't quite achieve my best in others.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, several people including myself.
Did anyone close to you die?
No one human. But the loss of our cat hit me harder than I expected it would.

What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Time for myself.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Probably giving birth without pain meds.
What was your biggest failure?
Not sure
Did you suffer illness or injury?
I don't know if high blood pressure counts, but I was unprepared for any kind of ill health because I just don't get sick.
What was the best thing you bought?
I don't know if our new washer and dryer was the best thing I bought this year but it was certainly the most expensive.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
my husbands every time he went and got ice cream lol. My kids when they hugged me and made me forget all the stresses of the day.
Of course there are plenty of other people in the world who did great things but no one affects my day to day life like the people I live with.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
There were plenty of people in the news that appalled or depressed me, but on the personal side of things, the events leading to my brother's divorce really depressed me and made me cry.
Where did most of your money go?
The house, daycare, bills etc.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The presidential inauguration.
Compared to this time last year, are you

ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner but not by as much as I'd like.
iii. richer or poorer? Probably poorer based on my 401K and the percentage of my income now goes to day care.

I wanted a girl and that's what I got.

Ha ha I don't have time for movies. I only saw two of of those two Harry Potter 6 wins.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I am so old that I can't remember what I did on my birthday.
ok so I'm 35 and I faintly remember being in NH and not going skiing (due to my ahem condition) and instead we went out for breakfast, then we went swimming and then for a walk on the lake.
What/who kept you sane?
My family for sure. Also I have a friend that I talk to almost every day for the 7 minute drive home from work every day. It helps transition me from work to home. The other thing that keeps me sane is my book club. It is there I remember who I was before I was a working mother.

Who did you miss?
My brother and niece always except during the month I was with them. I also wish my best friends from college were still my neighbors.
Who was the best new person you met?
Well just in case Mr. Fantastic (my cousin's new BF) joins the family soon I'd better say him. He is pretty great.
