[It is the morning after. The morning after the fairy tale event, that is. The morning after Cheria and Asbel were married to have their "happily ever after".

Of course, fairytale princesses don't immediately sleep with their new husband. No, Cheria had a good night's sleep in her own bed. Until she awakes abruptly around six in the morning, the weight of everything that's happened washing over her. She's married to Asbel. She'd been poisoned by Hubert, cured by a kiss from Asbel and now she's married to him. Aside from the poison bit, it was everything Cheria had dreamed of.

But... They weren't themselves. It wasn't really them who were married. Asbel's free will was affected by the experiment. A heavy, cold feeling settles in her stomach. Is it disappointment, frustration or even shame? She can only conclude it's a bit of everything. Oh, those stupid Malnosso! How dare they mess with a girl's heart like this? Despite her early awakening, she spends another hour or so in bed before finally gathering up enough courage to face her ( ... )

[Asbel sleepily exits his room sometime later, still in his pajamas at the time. After being confined to that outfit for a week, having to train, socialize, eat, and even sleep in it (showering was definitely a chore, to say the least), he was never so happy to be able to sleep in normal clothing again. And boy did he sleep good last night. Mostly because the weight of everything that's happened hasn't quite hit him yet.

He makes his way to the kitchen.]

[The kitchen just happens to be where Cheria is, in the middle of preparing breakfast for herself. When she hears approaching footsteps, she already freezes in her act of buttering her toast to glance at the door. When Asbel enters, however, she drops the toast completely. It falls butter-side down on the floor.]

A-Asbel...

[Asbel's eyes follow the toast's descent to the ground, before coming back up to Cheria.]

Ah... Hi Cheria...

[Her eyes travel to the ground as well, though she's barely taking in the toast. She just can't look at Asbel right now.]

... Did you sleep well?

[A pause, and then a slow nod. The tension in the air is so thick you could cut it with a sword.]

...Yeah, I did. ...Did you?

M-mm... Fine. Just fine.

[The topic of that wedding is lingering on the tip of her tongue, but... How to bring it up? Any approach would just sound silly.]

Ahh... That's good. [The topic of the wedding is slowly starting to surface in Asbel's mind, just making things more awkward for him.]

[And at last, she knows how to broach the subject.] The experiment... It seems it's finally passed.

[Tooootally unaware of what he just implied.]

I didn't really feel like myself during that experiment... Like I was being forced into thinking or acting a certain way instead of choosing to do so.

[Asbel's words are only making Cheria feel worse now. He's confirming her fears. She can't let him know about this, though. She'll just have to smile her way through it.]

... Yes. Yes, we all behaved rather silly, didn't we?

[She thinks so? Well... He didn't think they behaved 'silly'. But he was forced into a situation he wasn't ready for yet...

A hesitant nod.]

...Y-yeah. We did.

[Yes. "Silly". That's what it was.]

A-and anyway... That marriage- it doesn't count. It wasn't even done by our own customs, so it shouldn't be valid.

[...She hates him. Of course... He messed up, why wouldn't she?]

...Yeah, you're right. It wouldn't have held up back home.
