It's been a great weekend. Marina and I went to the retreat at Bayview with the church. We played with children on the beach, sung camp songs at a campfire while roasting marshmallows, giggled like young girls, talked about serious stuff, worshipped God and listened to Mike Hogg give sermons that removed questions and fog from my head. It was definitely a strength builder.
So was tonight actually. Dave and I decided to go to the Bible study at Nancy and Troy's house this evening. I really wanted Dave to hear Mike speak. Funny thing is he chose verses about relationship to talk about. He kind of did a Christian marriage counselling session. We learned so much about perceptions, conflicts and relationships in general. I haven't talked so much with people in a long time.
Dave and I stayed after everyone left and talked to Troy and Nancy about everything from their marriage, to Dave and I getting married, to Christian friends we're each worried about. Turns out Dave and I's background are very very similar to Nancy and Troy's. It was really kind of creepy. We didn't leave there until 11pm once we realized how late it was. We ended up sitting in his car talking more privately for awhile longer while we waited for Lee to get off work.
I feel so much safer and stronger both in my faith and in my relationship with Dave. Thank you so much.
