Thomas was worried. Mommy hadn't been around very much lately and when she was, she always seemed a little distracted. Not that he really knew what distracted was but he knew Mommy was acting odd.
He never saw Daddy very often so he didn't know if Daddy was acting odd too.
The other people in the House were paying about as much attention to him as always: just enough that he knew they were more or less aware of his existence so Thomas was spending a lot of time in his room playing the sorts of various make-believe games small children play when they don't have any other small children around to play with.
He couldn't wait until they sent him to school. He thought. Probably. Unless the other kids didn't like him.
He was, at the moment, Pretending he was talking to his best [imaginary] friend about how great school was going to be. Mostly he was focusing on the playground he was currently fantasizing just had to be at school. Anyone who was listening might think he was describing something akin to Disneyland. With more jungle gyms.
