I had a bad weekend of gambling in Vegas, but it was another very nice getaway with Wendy.
My fantasy football teams are both floundering already.
The Cowboys looked pretty good in week one, but the Saints, Giants, and Packers will not make for an easy road in the NFC. The defense in particular is a little worrisome.
I'm watching this Raiders-Chargers game and just saw the absolute worst call by a referee I've ever seen in the NFL. The Raiders were robbed of a touchdown.
Dinner was the chicken Lipton rice side, which I still love. I'm now eating reduced fat Cheez-Its.
Cute Co-Worker was laid off this past week; the company just doesn't have enough money coming in, and she was ready to move on regardless. This means more work for me and no sign of greater pay. The first day of this was o.k., but I'm not sure the dynamic of the office will be consistently sustainable with the new setup. Also - now that I'm completely lacking in any real peers - the atmosphere is going to be much less fun. It's almost time for a new job; perhaps I'll luck into one again.
I had a fairly outrageous winning streak in Lexulous recently (39 wins in 42 games, I think it was), but I've come back down to earth now.
I wonder if anyone whistles the ESPN NFL highlight music the way that I do. These tunes have been a part of my consciousness for twenty-plus years now.
If that Kanye-Taylor-Beyonce thing wasn't a setup, it certainly is a testament to how sad some of these award shows are that this is the source of the water cooler talk in this country. Yes, I'm part of the problem by devoting a paragraph in my blog to it. The MTV video awards are a joke as it is; the logic of how the "Best Video" can lose the "Best Female Video" competition is completely lost on me. For many years now that particular awards show has been tending toward that ridiculous compartmentalization that socialistically (yes, the dreaded "S" word in this day and age!) makes all the artists winners so that they can add the credit to their resumes.
I karaoked last weekend - "Army" again. It seemed like I was almost in tune after the bridge. My voice just can't hit the notes as my brain hears them.
