Rumor has it the H1Z1 epidemic is approaching closer, coming up through the Cities and through Duluth. Damn thing's nearly here from what it sounds like, considering they just had a case in Iron River over the weekend. Makes me think that maybe I should have stayed in the UP; at least it's far enough removed that it probably would never have made it that far.
Need to make a last minute trip to Wal-Mart for supplies tonight. Hopefully they still have Bottled Water and Spam left. They ran out pretty quickly when news of the virus first started to spread. Hell, they've also been out of ammunition since Obama took office, but at least that isn't much of a change from the norm, since many of us have been stocking up for the last year anyways, just in case the President did start outlawing things.
Some of the stories I've been getting through the IRC channels have been pretty crazy. The damn virus has an incubation time of only about 30 minutes before it takes control of the brain, apparently shorting out all of the reason and logic centers and kicking the primal urges into overdrive, most notably hunger and fight drives. Needless to say, communication has terminated pretty abruptly in most cases. There's not many left still typing in the heavily populated areas, and those that are are bunkered down so tight they won't even stick their heads up to see what's going on.
Ah well. Might as well finish getting some cleaning done. Going to finish cleaning the arsenal before I head out to the store. You know, just in case. "Be Prepared," as we Eagle Scouts say.
