Working late

Dec 05, 2007 09:32

I had my first time of the month end deadlines last night, which is always the 2nd working day of the new month. It was hectic. I so wanted to finish my work early but I was waiting for information to come in so that I could run the trial balance, balance sheet and profit and loss statement to fill in the forms for submission.

The stupid subsidiary that I correspond with had to give me the blardy information in the afternoon. And the best thing was that they even got some information wrong. It looks like they merely changed the heading from Oct to Nov and sent me the information late to irritate the hell out of me. I feel like shooting an email to them saying that if I had to see the same information, they might as well just give me the whole year's valuation with the month headings so that I can do my work without their late inputs. If it wasn't for this evil thing called auditors who require supporting documents when they perform their audit, I would be a much happier person. See, they affect my life even before I've met any of them, friends notwithstanding.

So there I was working late into the night, leaving office only at 10pm with another of my colleague, so technically shes 2 levels above me but the hierarchy here is quite flat lah. So many AVPs and VPs walking around all the time. LOL! Banks and their titles...

Discovered 2 things of note though. I can claim cab fare if I leave office anytime after 9.30pm. Yay! And also the pantry has my favourite Julie peanut butter biscuits, which I only ate 4 last night due to extreme hunger. I have to not think about those from now on coz I know I cannot resist.
