I had a wonderful, amazing, perfect, fantastic, super, vacation. Seriously. There was going to be a post on this tonight, with pictures. It was relaxing and peaceful and just everything I hoped. And the perfect length.
However, I went to take a picture of Sam being adorable, and my shiny new camera? The one that is less than a month old? STOPPED WORKING tonight. The lens won't retract anymore. I can hear the motor churning and nothing happens. You guys? I AM SO SAD. My old camera was 5 years old, and it just was out of date and the batteries were dying, but I loved it. I dropped it, I beat it up, I got food and sugar all over it, but it still worked. My shiny new camera? Hasn't been dropped, or sugared, or even exposed to sand this weekend (I was so careful) and it's broken.
Since it's been under 30 days, I can (a) return it; (b) exchange it; or (c) send it to sony for fixing. I'm thinking (a) or (b). I did research before I bought, it was well rated, and no one reported problems like this, so maybe it was a lemon? I don't want to send it to sony, because then I will be cameraless. What do you think? Return or Exchange? Give up and get one that has an internal zoom like my old one? Or exchange and try again? I'm just worried because I am not easy on technology. I need to get things that have been crash tested. I thought I could handle something with outside moving parts, but maybe not?
So - opinions?
(also, I missed my Sam SO MUCH while I was away. Seriously. That dog is the best thing ever, and I'm so happy to be home with her.)
