Are there any songs that always make you cry? There are plenty of songs that sometimes make me cry (commercials often make me cry!), but there's one that always does it for me:

Somewhere Over The RainbowIt popped up on Life With Bonnie today (hope that wasn't too spoilerish for anyone), so of course I cried. There's something so beautiful and ( Read more... )

I think I'm going to head to bed. I hope everyone (especially simplelyric, but of course everyone) has a as wonderful a weekend as possible.

Thank you. ::hugs:: I only got about two hours of sleep last night, what with one thing and another, and after driving to Cleveland for the funeral and back in one day (about 4.5 hours, roundtrip), I'm exhausted. I think I'm going to go to bed early tonight and just let myself sleep as long as my body desires. Tomorrow I'll deal with when it comes -- and, hey, new a Alias episode will make everything better. =o)

Of course I meant "a new" and not the reverse. And I also meant to add that I hope you can catch up on your sleep as well.

I didn't even notice that before. :) Oh, and thanks!

*hugs back* Two hours? Ugh. 4.5 hours roundtrip in one day? No wonder you're tired! I hope you get lots and lots of rest, and that things seem better whenever you get up.

Oh, and yay for a new Alias! :)

I got to bed later than I'd intended on Saturday night, but I slept for 14 hours once I tumbled in. I did the same last night, too, and I'm not sure why. It was nice, though.

I forgot before that I meant to answer the question you posed at the beginning of your original post.

Are there any songs that always make you cry?

Like you, there are a few (like Gary Chapman's "Sweet Jesus," and "Will I" from RENT) that sometimes have that effect on me. The main ones I can think of that always make me cry are two instrumental soundtrack pieces that do so primarily in conjunction with their corresponding movie scenes. Meaning, when I hear the music that plays during the final game of Rudy or while everyone is breathlessly awaiting some sign that the shuttle has successfully re-entered the atmosphere at the end of Apollo 13, I cry.
