Last night I had a dream in which I invited Emma up into my apartment for some tea. When I went into the kitchen I realized that the teapot was sitting on the stove and the stove was still on. The lid was plastic, which it isn't in real life, and melted and cold sparks flew out of the pot. Later as I was writing, I could see myself in the distance. It looked as though I was hiding and had just been found, by myself. So I saw myself smile back at me and the smile said "you've found me" without saying anything at all.

I looked up all of the contents of my dream in a dream dictionary and here's what they said.

Melted Objects: signify a dissipation of some construct in your life

Plastic: signifies fakeness

Seeing Oneself: signifies a self discovery of some sort

Maybe dream dictionaries are constructed to pertain to everyone's life experiences, but I don't care. The interpretation of the dream I had last night holds true to what I've been going through in my conscious life.

Sure I've been lonely the past two days, but I can see myself getting over it, maybe not for a while.

In the first story of this book an acclaimed author runs out of inspiration and so he bargains for ownership of the muse Calliope. When he gets her he rapes her and keeps her trapped in his attic. Meanwhile his success increases. It takes the dream king to free Calliope. The way he does this is he intensifies the writers inspiration to the point that he can't take it anymore and since he doesn't have a pen handy, he cuts his fingers and writes his ideas with his blood. among some of his excruciating ideas are;

"A train full of silent women, plowing forever through the twilight"

"A man who inherits a library card to the library in Alexandria"

"An old man in Sunderland who owned the universe, and who kept in in a jam-jar in the dusty cupboard under his stairs"

"A man falls in love with a paper doll"
