I've been procrastinating all morning about writing this dream. Now I'm writing it down at 10:49 a.m. at work. I don't have the drive to write much anymore.
I had my first jumping dream in a long time. A very long time. I had walked down the street to my friend's house. I was jumping and realized with each jump, I was going up a little further. There was a trick to the jumping in that I needed to keep my back straight and perpendicular to the ground. If I tilted, that meant I'd begin my descent. Regardless of the height, I always returned safely to the ground. In the back of my mind, I kept wondering if flipping parallel to the ground would ensure injury and/or death.
I kept jumping higher and higher. I think I was trying to show Elbie my technique and encourage him to jump with me. There was a limit to how high I could jump. As I approached that limit, the world around me would become overcast and gray. At one point where the world was graying out, I could see handwriting before me in the air conveying my next location if I went further. I forcefully jumped again and discovered I had become a giant, Japanese robot. Rather than jumping, I was flying really fast through the air and descending into a canyon. This is where I realized my ability to maneuver had become hampered. Each time I needed to move in order to avoid the canyonsides took extreme effort and forethought. Strange thing I observed is the canyon wasn't made of red stone, but LEGO. Must say the special effects budget for this dream was quite generous, and I liked watching the canyon walls roll around me.
Soon I realized this was "wrong". The dream changed and I had returned to the Jersey shore. The rest of my dream was spent leaping hundreds of yards into the air, watching the ground below me, and stressing out a little over the prospect of crashlanding.
In the back of my head, I am being needled with the idea of a third portion to this dream which didn't survive the rigors of awakening. Something which will connect its disparate parts into something comprehensible.
