So I'm looking for reading material for my trip to accompany meon my jaunt to Albany, NY. Will be visiting my niece at her college Thursday to Friday. While browsing I see a few books describing thei protagonists as "prodigies".

Give me some boostrap kinda stuff, akin to The Stars My Destination and crap.
Keep the crappy tropes of fantasy out of my science fiction, for fuck's sake. Make writing easier and write about princesses, tits, dragons, and murder.
