i enjoy being a mental case

Around 4 p.m. I picked up my Payroll Management course and slogged through Lesson 14 which covered 401(k) Contributions. I say "slogged" because the last part about setting up a pension plan (SEP, SIMPLE, and qualified pensions) appears to have been cut-and-pasted straight from some IRS publication since the English language was murdered and the only evidence being a word salad.

"The employees generally cannot be substantially the same employees for whom contributions were made or benefits accrued under a plan of any of the following employers in the 3-tax-year period immediately before the first year to which the credit applies:"

This doesn't even make sense in context.

To break my tension I put The Singing Dogs's cover of Jingle Bells on repeat for two hours which boosted my spirits. Went to the supermarket, left the music playing for the cats to enjoy and came home to eat dinner then start writing The Anomalist.

Within 5 minutes one of my friends in California's gushing in email and on Twitter over a card and a special gift I sent him. One of the more famous people following The Anomalist's Twitter sees this, retweets and favorites his tweet, and I ask "Hey, would you like one too?"

Looks like I'll be heading to the post office tomorrow.

And I was friended on Facebook by the Heavyweight Champion of the Scottish Wrestling Alliance completely out of the blue.

All of this is the icing on the cake of having my bookkeeping partner staying over for two days to talk business, philosophy, and theology in addition to playing several rounds of Story Cubes.
