summer is over
Tomorrow is the first day of fall quarter. I can't honestly say that I'm really enthusiastic about it. I'm scared out of my mind of what this year will bring. I'm a 3rd year. crazy. Who would have thought that this time would come so fast? Didn't we just move into the dorms??
This week was Welcome Week for us Anteaters. I kept myself busy with my club, volunteering, and hanging out with friends before it got too late.
I had so much fun this week. I didnt' get to sleep in at all!!! hehe But it was so worth it. =)
This is gonna be a long update. Here is goes:
I volunteered 16hrs this week. It was pretty kewl. The night shifts were not that great just cause they were so slow, but one night I got to see the nurses change the bandages of this one patient. The patient was so nice about letting me watch. When I first saw his arm unbandaged, I thought I had to leave the room, but after a few seconds I was fine. I thought I had a pretty good stomach for these sort of things, but I guess you never know till you actually experience it.
I met this really sweet patient who's 94. She looked like she was 70. The first day I met her, she was so alert and honestly, she didnt' seem sick at all. The next day, I came in to see her, and she looked so tired. She didn't even want to eat. It made me really sad, cause just the night before, I stayed with her until she fell asleep cause she was nervous about her first night in the hospital. OH, as far as experiences go, I got to administer my first bed pan. I got training for it, but I was still nervous. The patient totally walked me through on what to do. The nurse helping me was so kewl about it. When it was all over, she was like "You passed! You can do it on your own now." It's kewl when the nurses are willing to helping to help you out.
So tabling for my club was a lot of fun. When I did it last year, it was okae. I was really shy about talking to people. hehe This year, I'm not as shy. I had a lot of fun hanging out with my buddies there. Go CFC!!! hehe =P Props to all the newbies. You guys did an awesome job tabling!!!!!!
I went to the Arc Late Night thing. I never went before. I should have when I was a freshmen. Oh well. I was helping my friend table for his company JET BLUE. So guess what guys...I rock-wall climbed!!!!!!!!!! =D YEA...ME....RAISSA!!! hehe I was so scared!!! I made it half way and then my arms failed on me. The guy holding my rope told me to let go of the wall so I could repel down. OH man, I was so scared to do it. I swung to the other side of the wall. hehe But I'm so glad I did it!!!!!!! Gosh...I loved it!!
I'm currently trying to move on and start over. I wanna make the most of this year. I'm gonna miss all my friends graduating this year.
I'm gonna do things differently.
