Yeah...I want the Genesis Coupe...but it's not the car I -really- want.
The car I really want is still sitting next to my shed.
My problem is, from the beginning, I've been trying to fix a flawed build. The guy I bought it from had a good thing going but he had some major problems too. Some I could fix, some not so much. All along I've been trying to get it running properly while dealing with the issues from that.
Stupid.
As soon as the weather turns warm again, I'm stripping out all the custom engine work (nothing wrong with the suspension at all) and returning the car to stock form. From there, there's no reason at all I can't get her running again. The money I was going to use for a down payment on a Genesis Coupe will be enough for the few stock parts I need that I don't have, and any necessary engine repairs, the new window, the frame work that the car needs, and to completely redo the interior like I want.
Then, from there, instead of making payments on a Genesis, I can use that money to re-tune the car back to where it's supposed to be now, one bit at a time, and do it properly, with top grade parts.
I know it's going to be a pain in the ass. I know it's realistically a waste of money to spend that much on an eighteen year old car when I could have a brand new one. I know there are going to be times when I'm going to kick myself for doing it.
But I'm going to get that car back on the road.
I really can't wait for Spring now.
