oooo...sleep,
Welcome to Tim's bi-monthly no sleep update.
Today, caprice, pure caprice. No last minute essay, (not that I ever do them last minute [ENGAGE HOLIER-THAN-THOU MODE]), no particular reason to stay up, not even standard insomnia, just decided not to post here to get a decent night's sleep,went to bed at two, couldn't sleep at three, drew for a quarter of an hour and then watched three-and-a-half hours of How I Met Your Mother.
So, three things, Number one, Flies with eye on stalks.
Started talking to my housemate (science knowledge =nil) about mutation, and started to talk about homeobox (or Hox) genes, a favourite of mine, found some cool pictures. I like this one particularly. 'But what is it?', I hear you cry. Well, hox genes allow you to swap stuff about, and this particular fly has had compound eyes put on the end of its antennae. The new nose job, maybe? Wierd? Yes!
Secondly made my players rehash their own exploits, at a party with salmon and mead drunk out of 10 gallon skulls. Didn't expect a certain player to bring a 76 line iambic pentameter verse. But more power to his arm. There was also sex and dancing with tyrant kings, and prophetic dreams. Mmmmmm, party!
Thirdly, I had a little habit, well, more a lifestyle (Yuck I hate using that word). Basically in halls I was in catered rooms, so we could have full english every morning, and it was the best thing they did (by far). This became a sorta running thing where I'd meet my coursemates bout an hour before lectures and eat luch before walking down with them. Of course due to my problems with alarm clocks this usually meant I was fifteen to twenty minutes later than everyone else and would wolf my breakfast down. OM NOM NOM. This also made me on time for lectures, because I was late to something else first., This made 1st year a lot easier. But this has come up a few times, as we don't live and eat in the same place anymore. So I'm going to text a bunch of coursemates to come to breakfast before our revision lectures today.
