Paul Newman Movie Marathon

On Oct. 12 when Turner Classic Movies runs a 24-hour marathon of movies as a tribute to the late Paul Newman.

The marathon of 11 films, announced yesterday, starts at 6 a.m. with "The Rack" (1956), in which Newman played a brainwashed Korean War veteran. It ends the next morning at 4 a.m. with "The Outrage" (1964), about a Mexican bandit (Newman) accused of rape.

Between "The Rack" and "The Outrage," the other films are, in order, "Until They Sail" (1957), "Torn Curtain" (1966), "Exodus" (1960), "Sweet Bird of Youth" (1962), "Hud" (1963), "Somebody Up There Likes Me" (1956), "Cool Hand Luke" (1967), "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958) and "Rachel, Rachel" (1968).
