The standoff between these two is too precious for words, each one of them feeling within their own rights (typical man). Romantic Jack is a delight, surrendering his own little pouty tantrums for the one he... lusts. And the Little Captain in complete dismay... and disarray.
Jack would use his injured hand to try to coax Will back into his bunk. "Look," he'd say, "jus' look at me poor palm, all rough an' painful-like."
Will would look at it. "Uh huh," he'd finally agree. "Time to buy some more oil, Captain?"

On the plus side, though, you have two guys who eventually have to make up because they won't stop for directions and have nothing better to do when sailing around in circles for a week. :-P
These two are always fun to write, once I get past sequelitis and The Trade That Shall Not Be Mentioned. Thanks for trying it out!
I can't imagine Jack wanting him if he WEREN'T feisty and willing to give the old man a hard time. This is the same Will who would growl just as loudly at anyone trying to hurt Jack. Thanks!
I credit that line of dialogue to my sister, who PERFECTED the delivery of it. Unfortunately, it's usually directed at me ... but it's still worth recognizing. (This is the girl, after all, whom I once told "Well, one of us had to get the brains and one of us had to get the looks (her)," and she immediately answered, "Yeah, it's just a shame it had to all go to one of us." Me, a bad influence? Never.)
