Getting Worse As We Go

May 25, 2009 13:04

I keep calling PetCo everyday about my application because I really need that job, but everyday they tell me the manager isn't there and to call back the next day. Wednesday was the first day I called. I was on hold for about 5 minutes until I finally had the directions recording pick up and then I was sent back to the menu. Thursday I didn't call. Friday I was busy trying to pretty myself up for the other job that I didn't get because of lack of experience. Technically, I do have experience with that stuff, but I didn't know how to explain that I did those things in my high school art classes! It was totally fun. But I mean, they already had their person, I wasn't going to whine like a bitch to the owner about it. Just sit there in my skirt and try to look pretty and happy and fine with it. So I called PetCo Saturday and got, "Our manager isn't here right now. You can call back tomorrow morning and he should be here." Okay... take note of that please... HE should be here. The manager is of the male gender, at least that's what I'm lead to believe. Yesterday I called and they said, "Our (some department) manager isn't here at the moment. You need Debbie (I think her name was), and she should be here tomorrow morning." So now the manager is female? Was this person out due to a sex change? I just got off the phone with them again about 20 minutes ago, and I got the word, "Our hiring managers are not in today due to the holiday. If you call tomorrow morning around 8, someone should be here." Now, I'm getting really confused and slightly concerned. In an emergency, who would they go to? Apparently, there's never a manager there-whether it's male, female, or the 10 others they claim to have that are never there. Why? Rob said tomorrow we'll have to go down there in person. I said, "And said what?! 'Give me a job or all yer hamsters r belon 2 us'?" I just want to work with animals and have a job where I can make some money because all the bills are overdue, the bank accounts are overdrawn, and the stupid $770 rent is due in a week!

This reminds me, I don't really have any hamster food! I have maybe enough for one more bowl. I wonder how to do an "at home" hamster mix? I probably don't even have half of what the hamsters need! I barely have food for myself. Time for an LJ Cut so I can give myself quick notes on what hamsters can have that I may, at some point or another, have in my home.
