Sometimes I wonder what our world is coming to. On August 15 Marcus Feisel disappeared from his foster mom in a local park when she had a seizure. The three year old boy has autism and the community searched and searched for the little boy. On Monday the girlfriend of the foster father told what had happened. The family left the little boy locked in a closet rapped in a blanket and bound with tape for 2 days to attend a family reunion. This was one of the hottest weekends of the summer and when the family returned the boy was dead. They then proceeded to take the boy and burned his body and 10 days later faked this story about the boy missing in the park. You can read more at www.wkrc.com. Today the couple pled not guilty but were set at 10 million dollars a piece. I write about this because it has broken the hearts of many in this area. It hurts me to think that someone could be so evil. It saddens me to realize that this boy never felt love in his life and I wonder how many children in this country are placed with foster parents who do not provide any better of living conditions.
This week in the news was also a horrible plane crash in Lexington. It happened because the pilot went down the wrong runway not giving the plane enough taxi time to get it off the ground properly and 49 people were killed with one survivor. It's the one year anniversary of Katrina, and coming up upon is the five year mark of 9/11. So much sadness and nothing to do about it but pray.
