July 4th was really cool. We went into DC and watched a reenactment of and Declaration of Independence. Then we watch the parade. After that we went to lunch in Chinatown and went to a museum. It is just so exciting being in our Nation's capital including being searched every time we entered a place and with the helicopters flying around. I've not always been into history but this was so cool. We went to dinner but I came home on the subway because it had stormed and I didn't feel like getting any wetter just to see fireworks. So I came home and watched them on TV.
I have had a lot of fun with my braille note. I love having the option to read a book in braille. I can sit down on the subway and pull out a book or newspaper just like everyone else.
Emma is doing great. I finally have some pictures that I am proudly sharing with anyone who wants to see them. She looks around and smiles when I talk to her; she already loves her Auntie Jen. Mindy also sent me a video clip of Emma and it was just so sweet.
I have less than a month. I can't believe it, and I know it is going to fly by.
