'Little Round Mirrors' by Harvey Danger
A shooting star is
A little piece of
Cosmic debris desperately wanting to fall to earth
It doesn't get too far
It's not a real star
It's hardly even worth footnotes in your memoir
Shoulder to shoulder
Up on our tip-toes
Chewing our fingers
And craning our necks
Just to see
Quite the collection
Divide by section
It's just a surrogate connection leaving you all alone
It's funny, I actually always loved their "Where have all the Merrymakers Gone?" album, it's probably one of my favorites of all time. In fact when I first listened to "Little by Little" I was underwhelmed thought it was a little draggy, even dull. But now? God, I can't get enough. I just keep listening to it over and over and finding layer after layer in the unique lyrics and the combination of the strangely serene and the honest punky sound. The whole album is a must listen to appreciators of alternative, or good music in general...because it rocks hardcore, my friends.
