WOOT! I finally got it to let me update. How lame. Anyways. It's raining here in Hawai'i. This makes me unbelieveably happy. I couldn't sleep last night. It really sucked. I kept tossing and turning. I think it's because my mom and I were supposed to be up at 6:00 and I had my alarm set on my cell phone. Well my cell is unbelieveably lame and it's alarm is a rooster crowing. Except there are roosters all over this island, so when I heard my phone go off it just sounded like one was in the back yard... so I turned over to yell at it to go away and I saw my phone glowing and vibrating and figured out what was going on. Stupid... anyways. So I took a drink of water before I went to go wake up my mom and ended up pouring half of it on me when I realized it was raining. Yeah... that's cold when you're in a sports bra and some shorts. Anyways, told Mom it was raining, so we she said we should wake up in like an hour and a half to go drive along the Old Pali, which is by far the most beautiful road ever. Well my phone went off again (damn rooster sounding thingy... confused me again) at 7:30... and I just muted it and turned over and slept again. I didn't get up til around 1, haha. Last night Mom and I went down into Waikiki. We had burgers at Cheeseburger in Paradise and then went and bought things like all the tourists do. We got to watch all the weird people perform on the sidewalks, and I was sorta over it by the time the guy with the parrot started talking to me and shoving the damn thing in my face as I was trying to walk by. Poor parrot... looked kinda old and sick... not very well taken care of. Then I was kinda over the whole scene, and by then it was 10:30. I was pretty damn tired. So Mom and I went home and I took my shower and crashed at around 1 am. Weee... do you like how none of this has really been in order? Ya know what I really like about Hawai'i? You basically have to learn a whole different language. Everyone says "Mahalo" and "Aloha" and all kinds of words that you don't hear when you're off the island. 'Mahalo' means 'thank you', if anyone was wondering. Stupid tourists seem to get it in their heads that it means all kinds of things, because it's written everywhere. People think it means trash most of the time, because it's written on all the public trash cans. It's the residents' way of saying 'thank you for not littering' but tourists don't get that. It's rather amusing if you ask me. I saw it written in 3-foot letters on a gas station yesterday... why? I don't know. I'm sure at least one tourist now thinks mahalo means 'gas' or 'gas station'. I learned yesterday that 'honu' means 'turtle' in Hawai'ian, though. The guy at the t-shirt store was following me around telling me everything he knew about the shirts. He was sorta cute, but he got kinda annoying after a while. Oh yes! I forgot to mention that I finally got to hang out with someone my age. Someone that I know, no less. Cale and I hung out the other night... it was pretty funny, 'cause I had to drive myself to his place. My aunt ended up insisting that she and my mother go with me to get over there, so I didn't get lost. I probably could have done it by myself. Well we were driving and they were shouting out what was down each of the side roads, and then I wasn't sure where I was supposed to turn. So it was pretty interesting. We got there, and then he got in the car and then we had to go take my mother and my aunt BACK to my uncle's house. Well going there is one thing, but getting back with no help from anyone... that's different. So I navigated the best I could. Cale and I were GOING to go to supper at Zippy's with his mom (and possibly other people in his family, haha), but as we got there his mother was leaving... so we decided we'd go back to his place to order pizza in. On the way, we picked up his work money... so then I really had no idea where I was, haha. So I talked to his mom and dad for a while when we did get to his place (they are so cool... you'd never think they were parents, haha). Then he and I played Monopoly, at which I thoroughly kicked his ass. After he ate over half a pizza and lost so terribly to me (damn, I wish Monopoly money was real!), he decided he'd go to the gym and lift weights... so I went home. But we had a good time when we played... laughed, swore, and made obscene gestures. In case you don't know, Cale's parents and my mom go WAY the hell back. Cale and I only go back about 2 years, lol. Why is Cale so cool, you may ask. Cale is an automobile fanatic. We all know how I really don't know THAT much about cars... well I know some things... but Cale can tell you just about anything, and we all know I can listen all day and all night, haha. That, and he's just plain fun to hang out with. So yes, I think I'm going to get yelled at for being on the computer for this long... should be interesting. My uncle's just a room over shower, so my mother won't come barging in telling me to get out until he's done. *evil laugh* Nevermind... she just did. Alright, I'm out for now, but the boredom will stay with me, which means I'll be back! Later ya'll!
