At Long Last...

It's my first day at home without having to go to the agency. I'm not quite sure how I'm feeling about it all, yet. I'm relieved that the only bad part of my life has now dissipated but, at the same time, I'm a little concerned as to how the finances will go. I know we'll be fine for a while, but we just have to get out of Wisconsin in the next few months so we don't drain all our savings away with me not working.

I'm really looking forward to moving. I'm looking forward to having a newer, bigger house for less money. I'm looking forward to being able to search for a job that I enjoy and look forward to being a part of. I'm looking forward to starting our family.

We will be going down to Ohio sometime next month to hopefully meet with our contact down there about job opportunities and to start looking at different areas in terms of housing. Now we just have to get the house into some sort of "sell-able" semblance. That is mostly going to be my job. I have a lot to do, but I'm looking forward to helping out in that way. When I was working, Dan and I just couldn't find the time or the energy to do a lot of the silly things we needed to do to the house during the weekends. So, I'm hoping to see about redoing the kitchen floor, steaming off the nasty wallpaper in there, doing some re-painting, and getting rid of a lot of the crap we have around the house.

This is all a little scary, but it's like I told my dad.. if we don't do this, there's no way we'd be able to start a family any time soon, as we'd been informed at work that there was very little chance of making any more money until Dan's uncles retired... uh.. That's not a reason to stay there for 10-15 years. I mean, gimme a break.

So that's about it for now. I'm planning on trying a new recipe for dinner and getting all the laundry done before Dan gets home. This whole "homemaker" thing is.. interesting..

I guess now that I'll be home I'll be updating more often. This'll probably become my sounding board about all that's wrong with this house. Yippee for anyone who reads this. ;)
